I love that you love letting me be nothing but myself. You make me so good at being me. You changed my life for forever. You took a chance and paid some consequences. But no matter what the hurt, you remind me everyday that it was worth it. that I am worth it. that what we have is worth it. I love you endlessly. I love you more than I ever thought I could love. I thank God so often for the man that you are and the way that he made you. You are so smart. So handsome and adorable. So thankful, generous, giving, serving, adventurous, relatable, and fun to be around. Everything is better when you are around. You make everything more fun. Praise God for blessing me with you. Praise Him for allowing you to make it and to live. The first successful parenthood venture for the Mitchell family. You barely had a fighting chance, but God knew. He knew that 595 days later another little baby would enter the world that would one day need you desperately. He knew that you would complete who he had already made her to be and that she would do the same. He knew and so He allowed you to thrive and grow and flourish. He filled your heart with compassion and strength. He covered you in freckles and added an extra thumb so you would have a lifetime of good stories and a great scar collection started at an early age. He numbered out the many hairs on your head and put them in their perfect places. He made your feet tough because He knew you would love to wear flip flops so much. He made you exactly how you are and I love each and every thing.  You turn 25 on Saturday. I am so proud of you and the man that you are. I still can’t believe it sometimes that you really asked me to marry you. me. huh. I can’t wait to celebrate you for the rest of our lives. Happy Birthday. I love you more than anything in this world.

The thing about you and me is that we will always be friends. Yeah you are getting married and I am getting married and we will not be the same “no guy comes between us - in this together - girl power forever” kind of best friends, but when it comes to those big news phone calls or those everyday wardrobe questions or those laugh out loud memories you have to share immediately or those perfectly easy trips to the grocery store or the hardware store or the anything store you are the one I’ll always call to come with or to ask or to laugh with. You are the one I will always call to share the news with. You are the one that will always be there. So no matter where our new lives take us I know that I don’t have to be afraid of losing you because you were written into my life for a reason. And that reason is that God knew we needed each other.
